New release by Cooper & Clay

We are proud to announce the release of Cooper & Clays new single, Target Fascination. It’s their second release on the Bluevox label and is available trough all the major online stores. The release comes in two formats; A single edit and a remixed edit named Target Fascination (Extended).

After their first single in 2014 (Smile Number 42) Cooper & Clay went back into the studio to record Target Fascination, set for a release in early 2015. Close to the dead line the work was put on hold. The band strongly felt that the track needed a more tactile, organic and analog approach. And now, finally, the result it’s here.

Main instruments used in the recording: Roland System 100m (Modules: VCO VCF VCA 110, Dual VCO 112 x 3, Dual VCF 121 x 2, Dual VCA 130, Dual envelope 140 x 2, Ring Mod 150), Roland Jupiter 6, Roland MKS-80 Super Jupiter, Moog Mother-32, Korg Polysix, Korg MS-20, Analouge Solutions Telemark, Analouge Solutions Oberkorn Sequencer.

The Cooper & Clay story

The project started in 1985 with a backdrop of an industrial, swedish, middle sized town, a lot of big ideas and some cheap electronic instruments. The lack of alternatives shaped dreams of analog precision, small town poetry and metronomic expressions. The seeds began to grow. Through the constellations Inspector Gadget, Trade Parade and Orbit Clockwork, the path became a route. A lot of electricity and almost 30 years later it’s time for the autodidact boys to do their first proper release…

We are proud to announce that Cooper & Clay’s new single and first release on the Bluevox label will hit the electronic stores on march 28th, this spring. The release titled “Smile Number 42” will come in two formats; A single edit and a classic maxi edit named “Smile Number 42 (12 Inch Mix)”. The maxi edit (8:35) will bring you back to the times when faders were played as instruments and there was no shame in 4 bars of minimalistic programmed machines. You will find both releases in all major online stores. Can you see, can you smile, never doubt… 42

The Electronic Cover Sessions

Hellobrother (Fredrik & Martin Toreskog) did a number of acoustic covers of their favorite songs during 2011. The vocal tracks from these sessions were used by the Bluevox team to explore some alternative, electronic versions. The work was done during the autumn of 2011 and are only on a demo stage, but we think that they are too good to be forgotten. Hope you like them.
